EV Tuesdays: Week 35

EV Tuesdays: Week 35
12th July 2022

It's Tuesday already....Happy Tuesday EV Owners! A new week is upon us and we have a cracking line up for you this week.

Each week we will bring to you 5 different tools, tutorials, podcasts, pretty much anything we can find to help you with your electric car. Feel free to let us know if there is anything in particular you want to know about....we will get our little fingers tapping on the keyboard and searching the internet for you and see what we come up with.

Don't forget we will be posting these on our social media channels including Twitter, Facebook, Reddit (check out r/evcables subreddit), head over and give us a follow, like or an upvote. If it is an extra item you would like, sign up to our blog right here.

Until then, grab a drink, click on the links below and enjoy this weeks 5 items.

1. EV APP of the Week: Instavolt App

The Instavolt App runs alongside our contactless payment option and provides another simple way to access our award winning DC Rapid Electric Vehicle charging network.

In addition to the functional benefits the App provides (i.e. location mapping, navigation and VAT receipts), customers using our EV charging App are given exclusive access to the following rewards programs, which are not available to those using our contactless payment option.

2. EV Podcast: Charged Future

The World's FIRST Commercial Electric Plane - Robert takes to the skies! Top Gun may have Tom Cruise, but the Fully Charged Show has Robert Llewellyn AND an ELECTRIC plane! Join Robert as he takes to the skies to experience first hand the world's first commercial battery powered electric plane and steps into the third era of aviation!

3. EV Tip: Visual Range via Sat Nav

EV sat navs, either factory-fitted or aftermarket, can be incredibly useful when planning a route to an unfamiliar destination. Use a system with charging point locations to kiss goodbye to range anxiety.

The Zap-Map route planner tool is a good example. It will suggest up to three chargers situated within a mile of a route, based on the estimated battery range of the car. It will even use real-world data to reduce the range if a lead-footed driver averages much over 50mph.

Other systems enable a driver to see if charging points are free or in use, as well as checking that the stations are compatible with a given make or model of EV. Some will even prepare the battery for recharging before a planned stop, allowing for fast charging.

4. EV News: Current News

Households with electric vehicles (EV) and heat pumps are now saving £1,180 compared to those with petrol cars and gas heating.

5. EV News: Discover EV

Finally the first proper electric BMW, but does the i4 have the aesthetic and dynamic appeal of the 3 Series? Check out our review of the BMW i4.

Blog Version Extra:

6. EV Forum: DIY Electric Car

A forum community dedicated to DIY electric car owners and enthusiasts. Come join the discussion about electric vehicle conversions, builds, performance, modifications, classifieds, troubleshooting, maintenance, and more!

Until next time. Have a fantastic week!
